The 3Dimensions system offers a number of ground-breaking features that provide higher quality 3DTM images for radiologists, enhanced workflow for technologists, and with the SmartCurve™ breast stabilization system, a more comfortable mammography experience, with low-dose options, for patients.

The 3Dimensions Mammography System features Clarity HD high-resolution 3DTM imaging which reveals more subtle lesions and fine calcifications than previously possible, helping radiologists pinpoint more invasive cancers early. Clarity HD technology’s advanced detector and innovative synthetic 2D algorithm, known as Intelligent 2D™, work together to deliver unprecedented clarity, contrast and detail, without compromising on dose or patient compression time.2,3 Designed to increase diagnostic confidence and achieve more accuracy the first time, Clarity HD reduces recalls by up to 40 percent compared to 2D alone.4,5,6,7

New Standard for Automated Breast Density Assessment

Another feature available with the 3Dimensions system is the QuantraTM Breast Density Assessment Software, which enables standardization in patient protocols, providing normalized breast density assessment. Through a proprietary algorithm powered by machine learning, Quantra software analyzes mammography images for distribution and texture of breast tissue, and categorizes breasts into four density categories, in alignment with the ACR BI-RADS® Atlas 5th Edition.8,9

93% of Women Surveyed Reported Improved Comfort with the New System

Hologic’s new SmartCurve™ breast stabilization system is clinically proven to deliver a more comfortable mammogram without compromising image quality, disrupting workflow or impacting dose.10  The SmartCurve system was shown to improve comfort in 93 percent of women surveyed.10 Featuring a curved surface that mirrors the contours of a woman’s breast, the system is designed to reduce pinching and allow uniform compression over the entire breast, addressing the primary contributors to breast pain experienced during mammography. The system also features proprietary image processing algorithms that ensure the preservation of image quality and accuracy.

The Clarity HD, Intelligent 2D, Quantra software and the SmartCurve system are available on Hologic’s new 3Dimensions™ mammography system as enhancement options to existing Hologic Selenia® Dimensions® systems.
